On Writing “On Writing”
The book is fairly interesting thus far. I have heard of Stephen King before (thanks to my mother) and read some of his work. Here we get to know some insight about his life and career, alongside with the writing advice he has to offer. Anecdotes can get the point made when he has personal experience to note; one example was the research/back story being related to the time when he was writing “From a Buick Eight,” wondering how he would portray the Pennsylvania State Police in the story.
(I am commenting on the micro fiction, it would not allow me to comment there.)
ReplyDeleteYour story reminds me of a chameleon, that can blend in and be so still it appears to be invisible to the background. Then, when the coast is clear, it can move at lightening speed and come to a rapid stop to appear invisible again. Pretty funny I know. It's just where my mind went when I was reading it. Thank you. Good story Tim.
I like how Stephen King basically gives his life story of how he started as a writer. It can be encouraging for someone who is just beginning to write and is looking to make a career of it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Frank. It was also refreshing to read about his dissapointments, his frustrations, and ways he managed to get published despite all these hardships that most amateur writers go through. or will go through as they get started in the craft.
